Game of walls | Herzliyya municipality
A unique interactive project for Herzliyya municipality and the community center Neve Israel. Designing a construction hoarding surrounding a construction site for the future new community center. The project aims to utilize the walls of the hoarding in a way that creates a creative social environment for the children. The interactive hoarding had become the playground’s most beautiful and interesting attraction, hiding its true initial role as a physical barrier. The concept of the project divides the hoarding into four interactive parts, each is part of the playground itself. All parts of the hoarding were designed as a colorful graffiti that invites the children to take part in the different social activities. For example, the surrounding part of the “Pétanque” field invites the children to play this game, that was invented in France in the 19th century and is still played today. You can also find on the walls giant coloring pages, selfie stands, wall prints that create a 3D-like elements and even a “post it” wall that is filled with hundreds of memo notes for writing or doodling. Some parts of the walls also include physical attached elements. One of them is the game of “snakes and ladders”, with a unique design interpretation, real items that attach to the wall using magnets and a giant colorful wooden spinning wheel as a dice!
